From 27 May to 4 September 2017, you can catch Marvel: Creating the Cinematic Universe at the Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane.
This exhibit is exclusive to the Gallery of Modern Art. It will be Australia’s first major Marvel exhibition and the largest ever presented in an art museum.
This will follow Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye and their allies and adversaries from comic book to cinema screen. The exhibition will explore the interconnected films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel: Creating the Cinematic Universe features more than 500 artworks from Marvel’s archives and private collections, with iconic objects such as Thor’s hammer, Captain America’s shield and Iron Man’s armour. There will be more than 60 original costumes, over 150 props, never-before-seen set pieces from the upcoming film, Thor: Ragnarok, including the majestic Asgardian throne room.
The exhibition will look in detail at Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and The Avengers as a team, whilst also delving into the realms of Ant-Man, Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy. It is curated by QAGOMA and it will offer a glimpse into the work of production designers, storyboarding and previsualization artists, costume and prop designers and visual effects artists. Interactive elements throughout the exhibition will let visitors delve even further into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
