This 2018 you can celebrate the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in Brisbane! Coinciding with the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games this April is FESTIVAL 2018, which will bring fantastic live entertainment to Queensland’s favourite city to celebrate the biggest sporting event of the year.

Be in Brisbane this April for an unmissable program of live music, theatre, circus, dance, visual arts, and more with Festival 2018 - starting on April 6 and continuing until April 15 in conjunction with the run of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. Starting Festival 2018 will be WOW (Women of the World) Festival, which will offer an exciting program of live performances, exhibitions, workshops, markets, and more from April 6 to April 8. Also on the first day of Festival 2018 catch First Nation poets Waverley Stanley Jnr, Leonard Donahue, and Joelle Warkill performing a new show titled ‘First Verse’.

April 7 will mark the start of live music performances for Festival 2018, all taking place at the Festival 2018 Hub in South Bank. Look out for artists Kev Carmody, Heart Music, Regurgitator, Cheap Fakes, DJ Ben Ely, Haiku Hands, Urthboy, Mihirangi, Electric Fields, The Verandah ChiX, Mau Power, Dave Orr Band, Sabrina Laurie and The Hunting Party, Abbe May, Tales and Ales, BANFF, Golden Vessel, Airling, Blak Friday, Mission Songs Project, Coloured Stone, Skinnyfish Sound System, Morning Harvey, The Creases, Stella Donnelly, Alex the Astronaut, The Preatures, Jeremy Neale, Bob Evans, and more! Just check the Festival 2018 events calendar to see when your favourite music artist is performing.

Also not to miss throughout Festival 2018 in Brisbane include the Male Kiai Mura Buai Dance Company, The Owl and the Pussycat (kids’ theatre show), The Village (theatre), Nunukul Yuggera Aboriginal Dancers, Yalu Dad (dance performance), Revolve (circus show), 50 Shades of Black (comedy show), Katina Olsen and more, as well as top comedians Diat Alferink and Sean Choolburra. As well as that, look out for the BNE DESIGN open-air market and the Moving Words workshop!
